Richard A. Szabo

Richard A. Szabo, age 64 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, died on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at his residence.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, August 31, 1943, son of the late Bert and Esther Bernat Szabo, he had resided in East Amwell since 1980.

A Metalsmith with Union Carbide, Bound Brook, NJ, he had retired in 2002. He was formerly Shop Steward and Vice-President of OCAW Union Local #8891.

A United States Naval veteran, Mr. Szabo was President of the Union Carbide Bowling League from 1995-2005 and was also a member of the Keasbey Boat Club.

His brother, Robert Szabo, died in 2001.

Surviving are his wife of forty-two years, Patricia A. Zilavetz Szabo; two sons, Jason R. Szabo of Ringoes, NJ and Eric R. Szabo of San Diego, CA; and a grandson, Aaron Szabo of San Diego, CA.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Wertsville, NJ.
