Richard Dalakian, age 67 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on December 8, 2005, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Franklin, NJ, June 14, 1938, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Tutics Dalakian. He had formerly resided in North Plainfield ,NJ, and Dunellen, NJ.
He was a sales representative for Century Tube Company, Somerville, NJ, for twenty-five years.
He served with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, and later served in the United States Navy.
An avid dog fancier, he owned and raised Siberian Huskies for thirty years, producing many Champions, Specialty, and National Specialty winners. He was a judge for the Puppy Sweepstakes at two National Specialties Shows. He was a member and past president of the Garden State Siberian Husky Club, and was a member of the Somerset Hills Kennel Club, serving as All Breed Chairman and Co-Chairman several times. He was Concession Chair for several years, and also served on the Parking and Grounds Committee for Somerset Hills.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Baffuto Dalakian, and a brother, Michael Dalakian, of Belmar, NJ.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, DECEMBER 15, 2005 at 7 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours.
