Richard E. Schneider

Richard E. Schneider, age 73 years, of Hillsborough Township, NJ, died Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Somerville, NJ, December 9, 1948, son of the late John and Anna Oakes Schneider, he had resided in Hunterdon County most of his life.

Richard worked for the Foran Foundry of Flemington, NJ and a tree company in his early years. He then worked for Bryce Thompson of Princeton, NJ, for forty-nine years. Mr. Thompson was not only Richard’s employer but also his mentor and dear friend.

Richard was pre-deceased by his father, John, in 1977 and his mother, Anna, in 2001. He was also pre-deceased by his sisters, Juanita and Anna Elizabeth and his brothers, Roger and John Schneider.

Surviving are his sisters, Bertha Balek of Flemington, NJ, Carol (Robert) Kleckner of Stockton, NJ Gertrude (Trudy) Alpaugh of Rosemont, NJ and Ida Schneider of Flemington, NJ; his brothers, Alfred (Chip) Schneider of Lambertville, NJ, Junior (James) Schneider and his wife, Nancy, of Baptistown, NJ, Robert Schneider and his wife, Shirley of Lambertville, NJ; and his sister-in-law, Betty Ann Schneider of Lambertville, NJ. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 18, 2022, at 11:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
