Richard J. Arnold

Richard J. Arnold, age 85, died Monday, December 9, 2013 surrounded by his family.

Born in Passaic, NJ on May 5, 1928, Dick lived in Bridgewater and Somerville NJ, as well as St. Augustine FL, before moving to Flemington NJ, where he lived for 25 years.

Richard graduated with a BA from Dartmouth College in 1950 and later he earned an MBA from Columbia University. He worked as a financial advisor and broker for many years and was a “tennis entrepreneur.” He was a long-time member of the Flemington Presbyterian Church.

Son of the late Vernette and Edith (Hankinson) Arnold, Richard is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean Godley Arnold, his sons, Richard G. Arnold of Plainsboro NJ, David Arnold of St. Augustine FL, Daniel Arnold of Clinton NJ and his grandson, Danny Arnold of Clinton NJ.

Funeral service will be at 11 am, Friday, December 13th at Flemington Presbyterian Church, 10 E. Main Street, Flemington NJ. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington. Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 11 am at the church.
