Richard J. Pyznar, age 73 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died November 19, 2014 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, September 14, 1941, son of the late Steven and Irene Lucas Pyznar, he had formerly resided in the Stanton, NJ area.
Richard received his Master’s Degree at New York University and was the foremost American expert in German Philatelic. He was also an avid member of the American Philatelic Society, Bellefonte, PA.
Surviving are one daughter, Erica Pyznar of Union Township, NJ; three sons, Bill Pyznar of Mendham, NJ, Luke Pyznar of Flemington, NJ and Jeremy Pyznar of Flemington, NJ; one brother, Robert Pyznar of Pennsylvania and four grandchildren, Mathew, Will, Alex, and Sophie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 24, 2014, at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Bernardsville, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, 145 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ. Visitation will be held on Monday in Church from 10:00-11:00 AM.
