Richard Kubicek

Richard Kubicek, born on November 1, 1940, in New York City, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, February 5, 2025, at the Hunterdon Developmental Center, Union Township, NJ, where he had resided for decades. He was 84 years old at the time of his passing.

He was the son of the late John and Anna (Kuba) Kubicek.

A staple at the Hunterdon Developmental Center, Richard will be deeply missed by his friends and the staff there.

He is survived by his sister, Christina (Kubicek) Sopoci. His surviving family also includes several nieces and nephews, who will carry fond memories of their time spent with him.

In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother, John Kubicek, who died in 1987. 

A graveside service to honor Richard’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, in Flemington, New Jersey. The service, officiated by Rev. Bob Mueller, will begin at 10:00 AM. Everyone is welcome to gather to pay their respects and celebrate his life. Interment, next to his parents, will follow the committal prayers.
