Richard N. Houck, age 79 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday, March 27, 2009, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Grand Gorge, NY, October 13, 1929, he was the son of the late George and Gladys Mackey Houck.
He was a self-employed electrical contractor/electrician, and then worked for Lucent Technologies for fifteen years.
He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War, stationed in Japan.
He was a member of the Flemington Borough Council from 1979-1983 and the Flemington Planning Board from 1981-1986. He was also a member of the Hunterdon County Photography Club.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Margaretta Hausman Houck; three daughters, Pamela Robinson of Huntsville, AL, Patricia Yocum of Boalsburg, PA, and Janine Kiriluk of Lumberton, NJ; ten grandchildren: Tanya Robinson, Eric Robinson, Annette Robinson-Stroud, Ryan Robinson, Nathan Yocum, Christine Yocum, Andrew Yocum, Stephen Yocum, Anna Kiriluk, and Matthew Kiriluk; and one great-grandson, Isaac Robinson.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
