Richard R. Ramalho, age 88 years, of Three Bridges, NJ, died Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Trenton, NJ, October 5, 1930, son of the late John and Helen Eurs Ramalho, he had resided in Flemington, NJ and Three Bridges, NJ all his life.
A 1948 graduate of Flemington High School, Dick was a graduate of East Stroudsburg State College with a degree in education and received his master’s degree in education from Rutgers University.
Dick was formerly a teacher at Hillsborough Elementary School and was later Principal at the Woodfern School in Hillsborough Township, retiring in 1977.
He served in the US Army 1953-1956 during the Korean War. Dick later was a Captain in the NJ National Guard.
Dick, together with his two sons and late daughter, owned and operated Burger’s Motorcycle Sales & Services, Three Bridges, NJ.
He loved to hunt and to fly fish in New Mexico, Enjoyed traveling, and especially loved his mountain home in Pennsylvania which he owned for fifty-eight years.
A daughter, Heather Andrascik, died in 2007 and his sister, Doris Harden, died in 2017.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-three years, Glenda Taylor Ramalho; a daughter, Carolyn Pfleger of Bath, PA; two sons, Morris Poston of Delaware Township, NJ and Richard “Rick” Ramalho of Pittstown, NJ; seven grandchildren, Sherri Rohl, Robert M. Lenscak, Todd Poston, Jenna Bagnoli, Ashlynn Polidoro, Dana Ramalho and John Ramalho; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 29, 2019, at 2:00PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment with military honors will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Sunday 11:00AM-2:00PM at the funeral home.
