Robert Alfred Brown, age 56 years, of Raritan, NJ, died on Thursday, August 8, 2013, in Columbia-New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York, NY.

Born in New York City, NY, July 5, 1957, he was the son of the late Emanuel and Violette DeBlen Brown. He had formerly resided in Hackensack, NJ and Teaneck, NJ.

He graduated from Bucknell University in 1979 with a BA in Accounting. He held several positions in the Accounting, Food Services and Art Materials position prior to self-employement.

He was a member and active supporter of The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, TJ Martell Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer, the American Cancer Society, and the Lustgarten Foundation. He was an avid golfer and fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants and loved to cook.

He was the author of a top-selling, Amazon-listed book: "The Ride Of My Life: A Fight To Survive Pancreatic Cancer.

Surviving are his wife of fifteen years, Linda Martin Brown; a daughter, Taylor Violette Brown; a son, Colton Manny Brown; and two brothers, Gary and Duane Brown.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 1 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private.
