Robert B. Hammesfahr

Robert B. Hammesfahr, age 93 years, of Clinton, NJ died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born March 22, 1923, in Hamilton Beach, Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Ernest James and Lillian Weber Hammesfahr. Robert resided in Pittstown, NJ from 1960-2015.

Robert served in the US Army Air Corps during World War 2. He retired in 1988, after forty-two years, as an electrician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #3, NY. He was also a member of the Quakertown United Methodist Church for fifty-five years; life member of the Quakertown Fire Company; past volunteer at the Hunterdon Medical Center; member of Hunterdon Senior Chorus and of the Masonic Lodge, Baldwin, LI, NY. Robert also worked many years at the paint/hardware department at Walmart's, Clinton, NJ.

Predeceased by his wife of sixty-one years, Mary, his brother, Ernest Hammesfahr and sister, Dorothy Ramsauer, he is survived by a sister, Lillian Candella of Marietta, GA.; his sons, Robert Hammesfahr and Eric Hammesfahr and his wife, Shirley, all of Pittstown, NJ; five granddaughters, Johanna (Pete) Wachter, Stacey (Geoffrey) Michalski, Eliza (Chris) Ceci, Leslie (James) Arkuszewski and Olivia (Chris) Vance; a grandson, Eric S. Hammesfahr, Jr., and fiancé, Chrissy Boeke: five great grandchildren, Lilah Vance, Samuel and Emily Michalski, Griffin and Cole Wachter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 11:00 AM in Quakertown United Methodist, Quakertown, NJ. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. Calling hours will be Friday 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home ,147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
