Robert Cameron Mackie, age 97, of Kingwood Township, N.J., died on Friday, March 11, 2016 at his home.
Born in Chester, Pa., Sept. 27, 1918, he was the son of the late John C. and Ruth B. Mackie.
Mr. Mackie graduated from Drexel University with a degree in electrical engineering and served on the troop transport USS Admiral Hugh Rodman in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Following his honorable discharge, he joined IBM, where he worked nearly 35 years as a manager in Manhattan and Lawrenceville, N.J. An avid outdoorsman, he spent his retirement raising beagles and sheep on his farm in Kingwood.
He was predeceased by his wife, Florence M. Burckhardt, and daughter, Anne Mackie Errico. Surviving are his grandsons, Matthew Cameron Errico of Hopewell, N.J., and Marcus Robert Errico of Pasadena, Calif., and great-grandchildren Lucas and Annelise Errico, also of Pasadena.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, N.J. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, N.J. Calling hours will be held on Monday from noon to 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
