Robert Francis Schaul, age 80 years, of East Amwell Township, Ringoes, NJ, formerly of Harding Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2019.
Born in Bayonne, NJ, August 25, 1939, he was the son of the late Harry William and Frances Mangialomini Schaul.
Robert was a graduate of Seton Hall Prep, and went on to receive his BA in History from NYU, and his J.D. from Harvard University School of Law. He retired after a long career as a Lawyer, and as a Judge serving many municipalities in New Jersey until retirement as a Presiding Judge of Municipalities for Vicinage 13.
He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Griffin Schaul; and his sisters Claire Schaul Tryon and Vivienne Schaul Martin. Surviving are his daughters, Amanda Schaul Stipanovic (Mark) and Phoebe Schaul Thriffiley (Todd) and his two grandsons, Austin and Jackson. Additionally, he leaves behind his sister, Marguerite Quis; six Nieces, four Nephews, and eight Great-Nieces.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon, followed by a reception at the New Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. A private burial was held at Amwell Ridge Cemetery, Ringoes, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
