Robert G. Herdman

Robert G. Herdman, age 75 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Monday, October 3, 2011, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ. Born in Ringoes, NJ, August 18, 1936, son of the late Claude and Ida Fredenburg Herdman, he had resided in the Flemington area all his life.

He owned and operated The Herdman Agency , Main St., Flemington, NJ, until retiring in 2006.

A graduate of Flemington High School, Class of l954, he served in the US Air Force 1961-1962. He was a member of the Flemington Baptist Church; a life member of the Raritan Township Fire Co. where he also served as Treasurer

of its' Exempt Association for many years and was also a director of the Prospect Hill Cemetery Association, Flemington, NJ.He was pre-deceased by a grandson, Ryan G. Herdman.

Surviving are his wife of forty-nine years, Judy Young Herdman; two daughters, Cheryl Kirschman and her husband John of Philadelphia, Pa., Linda Stanco and her husband, Jay, of Jersey City, NJ; four sons, Richard G. Herdman and his wife Reyna of San Diego, CA., James R. Herdman of South Bound Brook, NJ, Robert Herdman and his wife, Anna of Sacramento, CA., David Herdman and Wendy of Ringoes, NJ; a brother, William Herdman of Dunedin, FL.; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Funeral services wil be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Flemington Baptist Church, Main St., Flemington, NJ followed by interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington, NJ.
