Robert G. Meyer, age 83 years, of Raritan Township, NJ died on Monday, June 7, 2004 at the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born December 1, 1920 in Woodhaven, NY to the late Herman and Julia Degenhardt Meyer, he had resided in Raritan Township for the past year, having previously resided in Readington Township, NJ for fifteen years, and Lebanon Boro, NJ for many years prior to that.

Mr. Meyer was a United States Army Veteran of WWII serving with the 8th Infantry Division, 121st Regiment in Germany and France. He took part in the Normandy Invasion.

He was a 1943 graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Journalism. Additionally, Mr. Meyer was the Editor of "The Diamond," the plant newspaper for American Cyanamid, Bridgewater, NJ, retiring in 1978 after 29 years of service.

He was a pattern analyst and was the author of the book, "Cracking the Dow."

He is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Anne H. DeSantis-Meyer, a daughter, Lindsey Krall Meyer of Basking Ridge, NJ; a son, George Ira Meyer and his partner Gregory Vogel of Hollywood Hills, CA; a step-daughter Luanne DeSantis of Long Beach, CA; two step-sons, Adam DeSantis and his wife Denise of Manville, NJ and Scott DeSantis and his wife Karen of Middlesex, NJ; and eleven grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Brigadier General Willam C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Please visit www.holcombefisher.com for further information.
