Robert I. Kuchinsky, age 78 years, of Flemington, NJ (Readington Township) died Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at his home.
Born in Newark, NJ, son of the late Abe and Rita Chaiter Kuchinsky, he had resided in the Flemington area for fifty years.
He was an attorney in Flemington, NJ practicing law here for many years until retiring in 2015.
Bob was a graduate of Rutgers University and the Cornell University Law School.
He was a Captain in the US Army and served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
A member of the Flemington Jewish Community Center and former member of the Hunterdon Central Board of Education, Bob and his wife, Janis, enjoyed playing tennis and later playing golf together. A person of many interests, he loved to paint with watercolors, was an avid reader and loved Irish folk music and John Prine, the country singer and songwriter.
Bob was a very caring person who, after the end of the Vietnam War, facilitated the entry into the United States of his South Vietnamese translator and his family, enabling them to establish a new life here.
Surviving are his wife, Janis Beaver; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joshua and Alison Kuchinsky of West Roxbury, MA and Benjamin and Laurel Kuchinsky of Berkeley, CA and two grandchildren, Ada and Aron Kuchinsky.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 14, 2021, at 12 Noon in the Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
