Robert J. Donnelly

Robert J. Donnelly, age 76, died Monday, January 10, 2022, surrounded by his family, at his home in Lopatcong Township NJ. Born May 24, 1945 in Summit NJ, Bob was the son of the late Patrick J. and Juanita (Hartman) Donnelly. He lived in Union NJ for many years before moving to Pittstown NJ in 1976, and then recently to Lopatcong three months ago. Bob retired as a Lieutenant after 26 years of service with the Township of Union Police Department. After retiring from the police department, Bob and wife, Elaine, became a real estate team in the Clinton area, first with ReMax and later with Weichert Realtors. Bob loved his Irish heritage – as a result, St. Patrick’s Day was always a favorite celebration for Bob. He loved all things outdoors and enjoyed doing projects around the house, especially in his vegetable garden in Pittstown. His most treasured moments were coaching his sons and attending their sporting events throughout the years, as well as the many events of his six grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife, of 53 years, Elaine Floyd Donnelly, his two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert S. and Angela Donnelly of Stewartsville NJ, and Michael J. and Denise Donnelly of Kingwood Township NJ, as well as his six grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew, Megan, Samantha, Robert, and James. Also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, William P. and Eleonore Donnelly of Pittstown NJ. Funeral service for Bob will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown NJ. Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
