Robert J. Eyles, Jr., age 65 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on January 1, 2007, at his home.
Born in Newark, NJ, December 28, 1941, he was the son of Sophie Staniecki Eyles of Ft. Pierce, FL, and the late Robert J. Eyles, Sr. He had formerly resided in Rockland County, NY, before moving to Raritan Township eleven years ago.
A graduate of Livingston High School, Livingston, NJ, where he was a track star, he was also a graduate of Morris County Community College and received his B.S. in Computer Science from Dominican College, Blauvelt, NY.
A Systems Program Engineer with BMW North American, Woodcliff Lake, NJ, he retired in 2003.
He was a United States Army veteran serving in Korea from 1964-1967.
A breeder and shower of German Shorthair Pointers, he was a member of the Somerset Hills Kennel Club, the German Shorthair Pointer Club of America, and the Eastern German Shorthair Club.
He was a communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, a member of American Legion Post #1000 of Trenton, NJ, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3294 of Flemington, NJ where he served as Membership Director.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Mary Yannes Eyles, and a sister, Jane Deane of Ft. Pierce, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Entombment will be in St. Magdalen Mausoleum. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
