Robert “Bob” J. Perzel, age 75 years, of Ringoes, NJ, passed away the morning of Friday, September 9, 2022, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Somerville, NJ, February 10, 1947, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Deak) Perzel. He grew up in Somerset County, NJ, but eventually settled in Hunterdon County, NJ, where he lived for the last 44 years.
Bob was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War era, serving his country honorably. He was formerly employed by the Johns-Manville Corporation, and more recently, the local Home Depot, but he especially loved being a self-employed antiques and collectibles dealer.
Bob was one of the original founders of The Stangl/Fulper Collectors Club. He enjoyed antiquing, flea marketing, and collecting. This included Trenton Art pottery and motorcycle memorabilia. Additionally, he was interested in many things: World War II history, museums, travel, gardening, flowers, nature, and all animals. He was especially fond of his many cats through the years. Most of all, his family remembers him as a devoted husband, brother, and friend.
Surviving are his beloved wife of nearly 43 years, Nancy E. (Dolgan) Perzel, of Ringoes, NJ; his siblings, Mary O’Neill and Joseph Perzel, both of Raritan, NJ; his nieces and nephews, Erin Dolgan and her husband Dave Behrens, Mia and her husband Josh Allen, and Jessica Dolgan, all of Denver, CO, her nephew Seth Dolgan and his wife Lisa Meneshian, of Los Angeles, CA, niece Carla Odenheim, of Piedmont, CA; three great-nieces and one great-nephew; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Jeffrey and Dr. Barbara Dolgan, of Centennial, CO; as well as his feline companions, Fiona, Mikey, Julius, and Little Harry.
Arrangements and cremation services are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. There will be a public celebration of Bob’s life at a date and time to be determined at Alfresco’s Restaurant, 100 Reaville Avenue, Flemington, NJ 08822.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob’s name may be made to Tabby’s Place: A Cat Sanctuary, 1100 US-202, Ringoes, NJ 08551.
