Robert L. Burns

Robert Lawrence Burns, age 64 years, lifelong Hunterdon County, NJ resident, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Lopatcong Care Center, Phillipsburg, NJ.

Born in Raritan Township, NJ, January 17, 1959, he was the son of Mary (Fink) Burns Bronnhuber and the late Harold Burns.

An extremely hard worker, he was employed for over thirty years by Gus Riccioni, Jr. & Sons, Inc., Industrial Vacuum Truck Services, as a truck operator.

His family remembers him as “the life of the party”, who could always be found dancing, singing, and barbequing. Additionally, he had a great sense of humor and stayed positive throughout his life. He was an avid New York Mets and New York Jets fan, and enjoyed following dirt track racing, especially the careers of his brother-in-law and nephew, Billy Pauch, Sr. and Jr., and everyone at Pauch Racing.

He was predeceased by his stepfather and man who raised him, Sebastian “Bash” Bronnhuber, who died in 2016.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Dana Burns of Stewartsville, NJ, David Burns of Ringoes, NJ and Donovan Burns also of Ringoes, NJ; his grandson, Dawson McWilliams at home; his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Billy Pauch, Sr. of Frenchtown, NJ; his nephew, Bill Pauch, Jr. of Frenchtown, NJ and niece, Mandee (Pauch) Mahaney of New York and New Jersey; as well as his great niece and nephew, Billy and Avery.

Life celebration services, coordinated by the family, will take place at a later date and time to be announced.
