Robert Stephen Hughes

Robert S. Hughes, age 74 years, of Franklin Township, Hunterdon County, NJ, died on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Camden, NJ, May 18, 1938, he was the son of the late Robert and Olga Kolody Hughes. He had formerly resided in Fairview, NJ.

He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired Camden Police Detective, and then became Senior Special Agent for the National Insurance Crime Bureau.

He was a member of the Clinton Elks Lodge, Clinton, NJ, and the Audubon Lodge F.& A.M., Audubon, NJ.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-one years, Anne Graff Hughes: a daughter, Donna Schuster and her husband Darren of Easton, PA; a daughter, Deborah Williams of Clinton, NJ; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert R. and Joanne Hughes of Ewing, NJ and Michael and Shelley Hughes of Riegelsville, PA; a sister, Loretta Bain of Brigantine, NJ; a brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Margaret Hughes, of Collingswood, NJ; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 4:30 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 3-4:30 PM in the funeral home.
