Robert W. Culberson, age 96 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, in Rolling Hills Care Center, Clinton Township, NJ.
A lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, he was born in Sand Brook, NJ, April 22, 1917, son of the late James C. and Edith Terry Culberson, Sr. He fomerly resided in Ringoes, NJ and in Sergeantsville, NJ before moving to Flemington in 1975.
He was a truck driver for Johanna Farms, Raritan Township, NJ until retiring in 1979.
A charter member of the Sergeantsville Fire Company, he was a sulky driver of harness horses for many years and was a member of the Spicey Seniors Bowling League.
Surviving are his wife of seventy-three years, Elma Scheetz Culberson; two daughters, Shirley Stuart and her husband, Buster, of Flemington, NJ, and Nancy MacClellan and her husband, Patrick, of Lebanon, NJ; two grandchildren, Sheri Pfenninger and her husband, Mark, and Chuck Stuart and his wife, Holly; four great grandchildren, Katelyn and Michael Pfenninger, and Paige and Amber Stuart; and one sister, Ethel Emmons of Stockton, NJ.
Private family services will be held under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
