Robert W. Granzen, age 87 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Saturday, July 1, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, PA.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA., March 6, 1930, son of the late Edward and Olive Mylan Granzen, Bob had resided in the Flemington area since 1946. A gifted athlete, Bob was a 1949 graduate of Flemington High School, where he played basketball, baseball and football.
He formerly owned and operated Possley Feed & Grain, then Clinton TV & Appliance Store and Bob's Appliance. Bob was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Bob was a member of the Flemington Presbyterian Church, Flemington American Legion Post #159, and for forty years, was a member of his poker club. An avid camper; he enjoyed all sorts of card games, especially poker. He was also a devoted member of the Flemington McDonald's Group.
His wife, Bernice Titus Granzen, died in 2014. He was also pre-deceased by two sisters, Olive Harding and Ruth Matragas, and three brothers, Albert, Andrew and Edward Granzen.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Wendy and Tom Callihan of Bethlehem, PA., Cheryl Keay of Flemington, NJ and Robin and Marc Berardi of Flemington, NJ; six grandsons, Sean, Brandon, Kyle, Ryan, Luke and Nicholas; and a sister, Marilyn (Mimi) Kanach of Reaville, NJ.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 7, 2017, at 10:30 AM in the Flemington Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Thursday 6:00-9:00 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
