Roberta Franke

Roberta M. Franke, age 95 years, died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at her home in East Amwell Township NJ. Born October 6, 1921, in Danville VA, Roberta was the daughter of the late Clifton and Hilda (Windish) Heady. She lived and was raised in Virginia until moving to Trenton briefly and then eventually living in East Amwell for more than 30 years. She met her late husband, Gilbert Franke, Sr., at a dance and the couple married soon after. Roberta was the President of the local Deborah Hospital chapter until it was eventually dissolved. She was the Court Administrator for East Amwell Township, retiring after more than 30 years of service there. Among her favorite things to do was to spend time at her vacation home in Seaside Heights NJ, where she could be found walking the boardwalk and watching the many people pass by. Roberta is survived by her three sons, Gilbert Franke, Jr., of Ringoes NJ, Glenn Franke of Maplewood NJ, and Gerry Franke of Ringoes NJ. Officiated by the Rev. Michael Atzert, funeral services and burial in Union Cemetery in Ringoes NJ, were private on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home in Flemington NJ.
