Roberta Monahan

Roberta Monahan, age 72 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020 at her home after bravely battling lung cancer for over four years. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, December 15, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Victoria Smarsczewski Hango. Roberta graduated from Harrison High School in 1965, soon after marrying her husband, Philip Monahan, in 1968. She was a devoted wife and mother, raising their children in Hillsborough, NJ, later moving to New Hope, PA. Roberta worked in property management for many years, retiring from Homestead Management, Hillsborough, in 2016. Roberta enjoyed traveling, her most memorable trips being to Paris, France, and a Danube River cruise. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed dining out, movies and jigsaw puzzles. Surviving are her husband of fifty-two years, Philip Monahan; her children: Jennifer Amorosi (Andrew Amorosi) of Whitehouse Station, NJ and Kevin Monahan (Suzanne Lynch Monahan) of New Hope, PA; her grandchildren: Gabriella Amorosi, Juliana Amorosi, and Madison Monahan; and her sister, Clara Bond (Edward Bond), of Bayville, NJ. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 12:30 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 11 AM until time of service in the funeral home.
