Rodney Hall

August 2, 1934 — June 28, 2023

Rodney Hall, age 88, died Wednesday, June 28, 2023, in Frederick, MD, with his wife Patricia at his side. He had been a long-time resident of Ijamsville, MD, where they lived for 50 years.

Born August 2, 1934, in Three Bridges, NJ, Rodney was the son of the late Lester and Edith (Perrine) Hall. He was raised in Hunterdon County and lived there most of his early life before moving to Maryland.

Rodney was a proud Korean War veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served as a flight engineer and went to many locations, his favorite being the two years he spent stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. Rodney worked in a wide variety of fields through his career, culminating as the Chief Locksmith for Fort Meade (in Odenton, MD) for 14 years.

Rodney and his wife Patricia loved to learn about local history and share that knowledge with their daughter and grandchildren. Rodney was an avid antique lock and coin collector and was one of the first members of the Lock Museum of America (Terryville, CT). Rodney also was active in antique car clubs, including the Sugarloaf Mountain Region Antique Automobiles Club of America (Damascus, MD) and the Francis Scott Key Antique Car Club (Frederick, MD). Spending time with his family, especially with his daughter and grandchildren, was the thing he treasured most.

In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his brother, Alvin “Cary” Hall, and his sister Sarah C. Hall.

Surviving is wife Patricia Hall of Ijamsville, MD. Additionally he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Heather and Keith Bulkin of Port St Lucie, FL, and by his two grandsons and their partners: Stephen Jackson and his wife Alicia, and Joshua Jackson and his significant other Dani. He is also survived by two brothers, George Hall of Hopewell, NJ and Robert Hall of Easton, PA.

Funeral services for Rodney will be held at 11:30am on Friday, July 7, 2023, in the Three Bridges Reformed Church, 470 Main Street, Three Bridges, NJ 08887. Interment with military honors will follow in Three Bridges Cemetery located behind the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ, and Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opposumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for his friends and family in Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Rodney’s memory to Lou Stavely’s Frederick County, Maryland Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace (PO Box 332, Monrovia, MD 21770), a volunteer organization that builds and delivers beds for children in need.
