Roger F. Hallenbeck, age 83 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013, in Foothill Acres Care Center, Hillsborough Township, NJ.

Born in Albany, NY, April 17, 1930, son of the late Francis F. and Edith Mattice Hallenbeck, he had formerly resided in Long Island, NY, then in Saratoga Springs, NY for twenty-one years and had resided in Raritan Township for thirty-six years.

An architect, he was formerly employed by the State of New York and then with Johnson & Johnson for twenty-one years until retiring.

Roger was a veteran of the Korean War serving in Germany 1954-1956. He was a Past President of the New York State American Institute of Architects; a member of Jubilee Council of the Knights of Columbus, Flemington, NJ, and was a communicant of St. Magdalen Church of Flemington.

He was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a BS degree in Architecture and received his Master's Degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University.

A brother, Stephen Hallenbeck, died in 2012.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Ruth Rooney Hallenbeck; three daughters, Mary Garzillo of Bridgewater, NJ, Amy Maddaluna of Flemington, NJ and Susan Hallenbeck of Arlington, VA.; a son, Mark Hallenbeck of New York City; and five grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 9:30AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
