Roger K. Everitt, age 86 years, of Ringoes, NJ, died Friday, March31, 2017, at his farm where he was born and resided all his life.
Son of the late Edgar M. and Edla Higgins Everitt, Roger formerly drove a milk truck for Bush Dairy Farms., Inc., Flemington, NJ and from 1968 until 2009 operated D & R New & Used Farm Equipment Sales and Service at his farm. Since 2009 and until January 2017, he operated Everitt's Equipment at the same site.
Roger was a 1948 graduate of Flemington High School; a member of the United First Presbyterian Church of Amwell at Larison's Corner, NJ; an active member of Amwell Valley Fire Company all his life, serving as Chief in 1959 and 1960 and was a charter member of the Amwell Valley Ambulance Corps, Ringoes, NJ. Roger was also President of the Union Cemetery Association, Ringoes, NJ; member of Flemington Elks Lodge #1928 of Flemington, NJ; was a member of the Mt. Airy Dairy 4H Club. Most recently, he was a founder of the Hunterdon County 4H Fair and served as its' President since its inception.
He was pre-deceased by his brother, Chester Everitt in 1926 and his sister, Doris Lambert in 2003.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-five years, Alice Lambert Everitt; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Tom Kovacs of Little York, NJ, Dianne and Larry Fleming of Sergeantsville, NJ, and Patty and Bill Kurylo of Ringoes, NJ; a son and daughter-in-law, David K. and Barri-Lynn Everitt of Ringoes, NJ; seven grandchildren, Dan Fleming, Tim Kurylo, Gregory Kovacs, Jodi Reed, Aimee Barzona, Amanda Kovacs and Treacy Weeks; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 11:00 AM in United First Presbyterian Church of Amwell at Lairson's Corner, 1000 Old York Road, Ringoes, NJ. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Ringoes, NJ. Calling hours will be Friday, April 7, 2017, 5:00-9:00 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Fireman's Service will be held Friday at 8:45 PM at the funeral home.
