Roger Marvin Goff

Roger Marvin Goff, of Riegelsville, PA passed away on Sunday, January 22nd, 2023 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township NJ. He was a resident of rural Riegelsville, PA where he resided with his wife Deborah (Case) Goff of 52 years. Prior to living in Riegelsville, they lived most of their married life in Flemington, NJ on the Case family poultry farm.

Born August 20th, 1943 in Tampa, FL, Roger was the son of the late Charlie and Doris (Graves) Goff. He grew up in a loving family with two sisters and three brothers on a rural homestead in Brandon, FL. His favorite hobby, as the stories go, was to get in lots of trouble.

Roger served in the United States Army from May 1966 to July 1970. He served with B Company, 4th/47th of the 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam. He was wounded on June 19th, 1967 during the 3 days of The Rach Gia River Battle. He received a Purple Heart for wounds received in action. His time in the Army shaped the rest of his life.

Since discharge from the Military, he worked as an expert welder at a few companies, the most recent being the Kuhl Corporation in Flemington, NJ, until he retired in March 2006.

His interests were always his family, his barn, as well as many road trips and travels by train.

In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his sister, Vera Teal, and his brother, Charles Goff.

Roger is survived by his wife, Deborah (Case) Goff, his two sons, Scott Goff of Stewartsville, NJ, and Vincent Goff, of Roebling, NJ, his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy (Goff) Serrone and Peter Serrone of Riegelsville, PA, his eight grandchildren, Harrison Goff, Hayden Goff, and Burgess Goff, of Roebling, NJ, Emilie Serrone, of Riegelsville, PA, and Maeghan (Serrone) Lee and husband Sean Lee, of Bremerton, WA, Samuel Goff, Ruby Goff, and Stella Goff, of Manchester, NJ. He is also survived by his sister, Melvaline (Goff) Walts and husband Joe Walts, of San Antonio, TX, his brothers, Donald Goff and wife Carol, of Georgia and Lowell Goff and his wife Anna, of Tennessee.

Funeral services for Roger will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Interment with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Pennsylvania. Calling hours will be Sunday from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
