Roland Edward Smith, Jr.

Roland Edward Smith, Jr., age 73 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Friday, June 6, 2008 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Newark, NJ, June 6, 1935, son of the late Roland Edward Smith and Mary O'Neill Smith, he had resided in Delaware Township for the past nine years, having previously lived in Readington Township, NJ and Nutley, NJ.

An avid golfer and fisherman, he retired in 1998 from Penske Logistics, Edison, NJ as a Terminal Manager.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-three years, Marion Sparks Smith; his children, Linda and husband John MacMullen of Upper Black Eddy, PA, R. Edward Smith III and wife Marie of Mystic Island, NJ, Brian and wife Joann Smith of New Hope, PA and Jean and husband Steve Lojek of Delaware Township, NJ; a sister, Joan and husband George Lister of Spring Lake, NJ; eleven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ.
