Ronald P. Galvin

Ronald Paul Galvin, age 90 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, died Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Complete Care at Green Knoll, Bridgewater, NJ.

Born January 22, 1934, in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Jack and Elsie Schmidt Galvin.

A United States Army veteran serving from 1955 to 1957, Ron married Ruth M. Williamson on January 30, 1956. Ron was a tractor trailer driver from 1964 to the early 1980’s, and he later worked for Hillsborough Township’s Public Works Department, until his retirement.

He constructed his own home, a log cabin, in 1966. Ron owned and operated Rainbow Hill Farm in East Amwell Township, where he raised Polled Herefords for many years before switching to Highland Cattle. He served as a Director of the Northeast Highland Cattle Association.

In his spare time, he was a Deputy Conservation Officer for the State of NJ for 34 years.

Surviving are his spouse of 68 years, Ruth Galvin (nee Williamson); two children, Roy Galvin and his wife, Tina, and Renee Christman and her husband, Mark; and six grandchildren, Rachel Christman, Leah Chavara (Tom), Zachary Christman, Rebecca Galvin, Terra Brix, and David Galvin.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 2:00-3:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
