Rose E. Higgins

Rose E. Higgins, age 99 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Flemington, NJ, November 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Michlin Tirpok.  Rose had resided in Flemington all her life and was a graduate of Flemington High School, Class of 1941.

Rose was formerly employed by Tirpok Cleaners, Flemington, NJ and then became a homemaker.

Rose was a lifelong communicant of St. Magdalen Church and formerly sang in the choir.  She was also an avid bingo player, seamstress, and loved cooking and baking.

Her husband, Howard Higgins, died in 2001 and she was pre-deceased by her brothers, John, George, Joseph, Andrew and Frank Tirpok and her sisters, Mary Bugyi, Betty Yard and Julie Tirpok.

Surviving are three sons, Wayne (Sharon) Higgins of Michell, Indiana, Neil Higgins of Cape Coral, FL and Thomas (Dee) Higgins of Frenchtown, NJ; one daughter, Susan Hanna of Easton, PA; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and her sister, Helen Totten of Florence, NJ.

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 20, 2023, at 11:00 AM in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
