Rose Lillian (nee Nemeth) Hiltey, age 55, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her home in Hopewell Borough NJ. She lived in the Hunterdon/Mercer County area her entire life.
Born February 13, 1965, in New Brunswick NJ, Lilly was the daughter of the late Erno Nemeth and Rose (Boncfoldi) Nemeth of East Amwell NJ. Lilly grew up on the family farm in East Amwell NJ where she learned to ride horses and became a motorcycle enthusiast, especially riding dirt-bikes in the area. She graduated from Hunterdon Central Regional High School in 1983, getting her degree in Cosmetology.
For many years, Lilly worked as a bartender at the Hopewell Inn, alongside her family. She was a great cook and enjoyed a fantastic meal with her family and close friends.
She was a voracious reader, reading many novels when she got the chance, listening to some of her favorite music, which often included the band, Fleetwood Mac, and loved spending summers with family and friends at the beach, especially, Long Beach Island NJ. With an eye for appreciating beauty in the world around her, she continued to be inspired by art design and decoration, and used her talents whenever possible.
She worked in hair salons, was well-known for her abilities in hair color treatments for her clients, and eventually was the owner of Thirty Three West Hair Salon in Hopewell Borough NJ.
Lilly’s greatest passion was her two children, Ali Margo Hiltey and Gabrielle Kaye, whom she adored and provided incredible happiness to her.
In addition to her father in 2016, Lilly was predeceased by her brother, Ernest Nemeth in 1981. She is survived by her daughters, Ali Margo Hiltey and Gabrielle Kaye, her mother, Rose Nemeth of East Amwell NJ, her sister, Susan Molnar of Flemington NJ, her former husband, Christopher Hiltey of Stockton and Gabrielle’s father, Jason Kaye of Ringoes, as well as one granddaughter, her dog, Jackie Boy, her cat, Elvis, and many friends, customers, and acquaintances that will all miss her dearly.
Because of the COVID-19 restrictions, funeral services officiated by the Rev. Matthew Marinelli will be private at 4:00 pm on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Close friends may gather from 3:00 pm until the time of the service on Thursday. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lilly’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
