Rosemary Rochford

Rosemary Rochford (born Rosina Maria Ragusa), age 95 years, of Raritan Township NJ, died peacefully at home on December 30, 2018. Born in New York City, on August 12, 1923, the daughter of the late Paul and Dominica Ragusa, she formerly resided in Jackson Heights, N.Y. She was a graduate of Hunter High School and Hunter College in New York City. She was married to the late Frank Rochford in 1957. She is survived by her three children, Paul Rochford of Connecticut, Thomas Rochford of New York City, and Dr. Anne Rochford of Flemington NJ. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Julia Rochford, Samantha Rochford, Alison Sullivan (née Rochford), Jacob Rochford, Luke Phillips, Claire Phillips and her great granddaughter Kiera Sullivan. She raised her children in Floral Park, NY where she was very involved at Our Lady of Snows Parish, and later worked as the Assistant Director of Hospital Admissions at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. She moved to Flemington, NJ in 2004. She was very active at the Flemington Senior Center, serving on the advisory board. She volunteered at Hunterdon Medical Center in the Medical Library. She was an avid reader. She loved the beach. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in Long Island National Cemetery, Wyandanch, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution in Rosemary’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital: 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
