Roslyn Newborn

Roslyn (Ronnie) Newborn, age 83 years old of Flemington, New Jersey died on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Symphony of Evanston, IL after a brief struggle with lung cancer. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 25, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mollie Silverstein. She lived in Wilmington, Delaware for 53 years in Stanton and New Castle before moving to Lambertville, New Jersey and then Flemington. She graduated from Philadelphia High School for Girls and trained as a Medical Technician at Philadelphia Osteopathic Hospital. Roslyn retired from Air Base Carpet Mart in New Castle, Delaware where she was employed for many years as a sales person and manager. Ronnie was an amazing listener and loved meeting new people. She enjoyed Broadway plays, bingo, poker, softball tournaments and all things purple. She is survived by her children A. Scott Newborn of New York City, Gary Newborn (Susan) of Flemington, New Jersey and Gayle McCormick (Matthew) of Wilmette, Illinois; five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The joy of her life was her grandchildren, Matthew Newborn of Philadelphia, Kelsey Newborn Chapman of the Gold Coast, Australia, Jenna Newborn of Flemington, Ben McCormick of Wilmette and Molly McCormick of Wilmette. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, New Jersey.
