Rudolph Andrew Petercsak Sr., age 87 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, surrounded by his family.
Born August 17, 1929, in Bonhamtown, NJ, Rudy was the son of the late Andrew and Stephie (Lukash) Petercsak. He grew up in Middlesex County and graduated from Metuchen High School (NJ) and lived in that area until moving to Flemington in 1964. Rudy served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Rudy worked as a service manager, first for Metuchen Motors and then with Boro Motors, where he first met his wife, Mary Jane. Later, Rudy would co-own and operate a lawn and garden equipment company, Edison Tractor and Mower in Edison, NJ, until his retirement.
Rudy had many interests including landscape and nature photography, flower gardening, and fishing at his favorite spots in Round Valley Reservoir in Clinton Township, NJ. He also was a stamp collector, and for 45 years, was a member of the VIP Poker Group with his friends. His faith was very important to him, Rudy was a longtime member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Flemington. Most of all, Rudy will be remembered for his good sense of humor and the love for his family.
In addition to his parents and his step-father, George Goldstein, Rudy was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Petercsak, and his son, Steven Stewart Petercsak. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Mary Jane (Hull) Petercsak, his son, Rudolph A. Petercsak, Jr. of Perkasie, PA, his half-brother, Fred Goldstein, and a host of other family members.
Funeral service officiated by Rev. Harry Mazujian, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Calvary Episcopal Church, 44 Broad Street, Flemington NJ. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Flemington. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
