Russell J. Lamendola

Russell Joseph Lamendola entered into eternal rest on June 9, 2022 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township NJ.

Russell was born in Flemington NJ on January 18, 1935, to the late Charles and Martha Funk Lamendola. He graduated from Flemington High School in 1952 and was married to his high school sweetheart, Ann Cronce Lamendola, for sixty-five years who preceded him in death in 2020. Russell served in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Dix after leaving high school.

Russell worked at Ethyl-Visqueen Corp. in Flemington for a number of years. Russ is best known for his “green thumb,” he worked in the greenhouses of Flemington Floral Company, and as a teacher in the greenhouses of Hunterdon Occupational Training Center. He ended his career working in the nursery section of Agway in Flemington, and after retiring, had his own lawn and landscape service. While working at Ethyl-Visqueen Corp. he was the pitcher for the company’s softball team.

Russ is survived by his three children, Linda Rinaldi (Jim), Russell J. Lamendola, Jr. (Misty), Kathleen Atterbury (Mark), and six grandchildren, Jason Sine (Julia), Jessica Checchio (Thomas), Matthew Sine, Holly Atterbury, Joshua Atterbury, and Noah Atterbury and a great granddaughter, Reina Juliet Sine. He is survived by his older sister, Virginia Lamendola Dorio.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Monday, June 13, 2022 at the St. Magdalen De Pazzi Roman Catholic Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow at a later date in St. Magdalen Cemetery. There are no public calling hours.
