Russell J. Toumey

Russell J. Toumey, age 89 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Sunday, December 4, 2016 at his residence.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, March 19, 1927, son of the late John and Julia Asher Toumey, he had formerly resided in Long Island, NY.

Russell was a former gas dispatcher for Con Edison Energy Company.

A parishioner of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, he was an avid member of the Rosary Society, Knights of Columbus, and the Holy Name Society all of Massapequa, NY.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Jeanette Miele Toumey, are two daughters, Theresa Heizer of Manchester, MD, and Patricia Burkhardt of Doylestown, PA; three grandchildren, Jacqueline Burkhardt and her husband Rodney Millspaugh, Steven Heizer, and Katie Cinnamon; one step-son, James Miele of Three Bridges, NJ; one step-daughter, Johanna Miele and her husband, James Linden of Flemington, NJ, two step-grandchildren, Mary Linden and James Linden and two great-grandchildren, Justin and Lily.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 , at 11:30 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 AM in the funeral home.
