Ruth A. Kent

Ruth Alice Kent, age 97 years, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in the Country Arch Care Center, Union Township, NJ. Born in Cicero, IL on May 23, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Frank H. and Agnes Ross Bussey. She had resided in New Jersey most of her life but was also a resident of Wilmington, NC for a time. She was a homemaker, an exceptional cook, extensive traveler with her late husband, and lover of the outdoors. Ruth especially enjoyed the ocean; she loved boating, sailing, crabbing, clamming, and picking up seashells on the beach. Her family remembers her as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved children and made everyone laugh. Ruth was predeceased by her husband of seventy-two years, Herbert Edward Kent, who died in 2016. Surviving are her four children, Joyce Lawrence of Milford, NJ, Bonnie MacArthur of Evansville, IN, Thomas Kent of Oceanport, NJ and Ron Kent of Pueblo, CO; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
