Ruth D. Van Horn Symons

Ruth D. Van Horn Symons, age 95 years, of Lawrenceville, NJ, died on Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. Joseph's Nursing House, Lawrenceville, NJ.

She was born in Trenton, NJ, and was the daughter of the late Harry and Marie Van Horn.

A former thirty-five year Flemington, NJ resident, Mrs. Symons had also lived in Whiting, NJ. Her husband, Reynold W. Symons, died in 2007 after seventy years of marriage. She was also pre-deceased by her brother and sisters, Earl Van Horn, Alma Dowd, Lillian Trought and Naomi Van Horn.

Mrs. Symons was employed by Nevius-Voorhees Dept. Store, Trenton, NJ for twenty-three years, where she was a department manager and buyer. After retirement, she worked for various companies in Princeton, NJ and Flemington, NJ including Dunham's and Ailene's.

Surviving are two sons, John R. Symons and his wife, Saveria of Pennington, NJ. and Richard P. Symons and his wife, Diane, of Dublin, PA; two grandsons, Richard of Brookline, NH and Michael of Doylestown, PA; two great grandsons; one great-great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 22,2013, at 9:15 AM in St. Vincent DePaul Church, 555 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ 08620 under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
