Ruth Fairbanks

Ruth I. Fairbanks, age 91 years, former longtime Hunterdon County, NJ resident, died on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Lakeview at Pine Run Community, Doylestown, PA where she had resided the past two years.

Born in Branchburg Township, NJ, October 7, 1921, daughter of the late Oscar and Irene Mattison Van Fleet, she had formerly resided in Readington Township, NJ, then in Dublin, PA, for fifty-five years.

Ruth was a former secretary for Philco Ford in PA. and was a member of the Readington Reformed Church, Readington, NJ.

Her husband, Samuel R. Fairbanks, died in 1992, a sister, Helen Carkhuff, died in 2008, and her son, Paul R. Fairbanks, died in 2012.

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, R. Eileen Fairbanks of North Richland Hills, TX; two grandchildren, Karen Armstrong of Peoria, AZ, and Josh Fairbanks of Bedford, TX; four great grandchildren, Michael, Brent, Sydni and Kate; and a brother, Harold O. Van Fleet of Flemington, NJ.

Graveside Services will take place on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Readington Cemetery, Readington Road, Readington, NJ (behind the Readington Reformed Church) under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
