Salvatore Bongiovanni

Salvatore Bongiovanni, age 73 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Friday, May 4, 2012 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Newark, NJ, December 15, 1938, son of the late John and Angie Ponzio Bongiovanni he had resided in Raritan Township for the past forty-three years.

A Sheet Metal Worker retiring in 2000, he was a longtime member of Sheetmetal Workers Union Local #22, Cranford, NJ and also of Local #27 of Farmingdale, NJ.

A United States Navy veteran, Mr. Bongiovanni was formerly a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sayerville, NJ and also enjoyed raising homing pigeons.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-two years, Charlotte Monetti Bongiovanni; four sons, John, Michael, and Salvatore, Jr., all of Raritan Township, NJ and Anthony of Kunkletown, PA; a sister, Rosalie Castellano of Gillette, NJ; and seven grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
