Salvatore Verga, age 95 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Monday, August 3, 2015, at his home.
Born in Passaic, NJ, April 9, 1920, son of the late Vincent and Rosalie LaRoca Verga, he had resided in Raritan Township for ten years and had formerly resided in Elmwood Park, NJ.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War 2, serving in North Africa and Italy. He was a wholesale florist specializing in azaleas. His floral business was located in Elmwood Park, NJ for many years until retiring in 1970.
Salvatore was a member of the VFW Post, Elmwood Park, NJ.
His wife, Jane Allegri Verga, died in 2013.
Surviving are four sons, Larry Verga of Flemington, NJ, Barry Verga of West Hills, CA., Warren Verga of Berkeley, MA., and James Verga of Ephrata, PA., and three grandchildren, Jared Verga and his wife, Sarah, Trista Silver and her husband, Chris, and Lena Verga.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at 11:00 AM in Calvary Cemetery, Paterson, NJ. Calling hours will be Tuesday 6:00-8:00PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
