Samuel Borman, age 95, died Sunday, February 2, 2020 at All-American Assisted Living in Hillsborough NJ.
Born on Flag Day, June 14, 1924 in Toledo, Ohio, Samuel was the son of the late William and Gertrude (Glass) Borman. He lived for many years in the Clifton NJ area before moving to Hunterdon County several years ago.
Samuel was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served in World War II as an Electronic Technician’s Mate Third Class.
Samuel was an Electrical Engineer after the War, working for companies like Zenith, Philco and RCA in the new development of television. He would later retire from the United States Department of Defense in Clifton NJ.
He loved participating in sports as a young man, especially football, basketball and baseball, where he grew up following his favorite team, the New York Yankees. Even as he grew older, Samuel was always a vibrant and youthful man, finding time to dance, sing, and spend time with his family.
Surviving are his three daughters, Kimi Mittler of Ringoes, NJ, Cyd Little of Arlington, VA, and Jami Borman of New City NY. He is also survived by his four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Graveside services with Military Honors and entombment officiated by the Rabbi Eric Cohen will at 1:00 pm, Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Mt. Sinai Cemetery & Mausoleum, 361 State Route 79, Morganville, NJ 07751. Anyone wishing to attend the services is asked to arrive at the cemetery by 12:45 pm.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
