Sanford L. "Abe" Hillpot

Sanford L. "Abe" Hillpot, age 88 years, of Oviedo, FL, died on Friday, July 20, 2012, at his home.

A resident of Florida for twenty-two years, he had previously resided in Austin, TX for fifteen years and in Ringoes, NJ for twenty-four years.

A maintenance mechanic, he formerly owned and operated Ringoes Esso Service Center, Ringoes. A United States Navy veteran of World War II, he served from 1942-1945.

He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans; life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Orlando, FL; and was a former member of the American Legion, Orlando, FL. He was also a member of the Amwell Valley Exempt Fireman's Association, Ringoes, NJ.

A daughter, Vicki Lee Hillpot, died in 1963.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Reigle Hillpot; a son, Sanford David Hillpot of Simpsonville, SC; a daughter, Susan E. Hunnell of Winter Springs, FL; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 28,2012, at 11:00 a.m. in Amwell Ridge Cemetery, Larison's Corner, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Comforter, 590 Marion Street, Altamonte Springs, FL, 32714.
