Sara L. Fitzsimmons

Sara L. Fitzsimmons, age 91 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Friday, November 17, 2017, at the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Manhattan, NY, August 8, 1926, daughter of the late Jose and Eleonora Cueto Lopez, she had formerly resided in Flushing, NY.

Sara worked for twenty years as a school secretary in William Cullen Bryant High School, Queens, NY. She was a faithful communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ.

Sara is pre-deceased by her husband, Edward A. Fitzsimmons in 2010.

Surviving are a daughter, Bernadette Lopez-Fitzsimmons of Cold Spring, NY; three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward P. and Alissa Fitzsimmons of Sound Beach, NY, Michael M. and Michelle Fitzsimmons of Dacula, GA and Andrew P. and Karin Fitzsimmons of Flemington, NJ; six grandchildren, Sarah, Maria, Robert, Edward, Anna-Marie and Michael Meloro, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Rev. Walter Wiktorek will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 10:30 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing, NY. Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM in the Funeral Home.
