Saris Leenherdt "Jack" Stil, age 78 years, of Basking Ridge, NJ, died on Friday, May 22, 2009 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Arnhem, Netherlands, September 3, 1930, son of the late Saris Leenherdt and Willempje van den Berg Stil, he had resided in Basking Ridge for the past fifteen years.
A graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Mr. Stil was the Captain of an oil tanker for Exxon International for many years then went on to become an Executive with Exxon International, retiring out of the Florham Park, NJ headquarters.
His wife, Annie Zwart Stil, with whom he joined in marriage in 1955, died in 1991.
Surviving are a daughter, Jooske Stil of San Leandro, CA; a son and daughter-in-law, Michiel and Juliette Stil of Alexandria Township, NJ; and two grandchildren, Tyler and Sophia Stil.
