Saverio Zuchovicki (Toto), 86, citizen of the world, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 in Phillipsburg, New Jersey at the Brakeley Park Care Center & Rehabilitation.
Saverio was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to the late Ruven Zuchovicki and Itka Alpert on February 9, 1934. He worked as an electronics engineer for most of his professional career. He enjoyed playing the violin, listening to classical music, and singing. He was an avid reader, a Shakespearean poet, and a lover of arts and culture. Saverio had a hunger for knowledge and an infectious personality that could brighten a room. He was a loyal husband, a role modeling father, a protective big brother, and a loving grandfather.
Saverio is survived by his daughter, Marcela Zuchovicki; his son, Mario Zuchovicki; his daughter-in-law, Laura Zuchovicki; his granddaughters, Mariana and Danielle Zuchovicki and respective spouses; his niece, Silvia Hernandez, and her children, Ivan and Pablo Hernandez; his nephew, Alejandro Zuchovicki, and his children, Emiliando and Mariano Zuchovicki; and cousins Michal and Bertha of Israel with their respective children.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Catalina Scharf de Zuchovicki; and younger brother, Julio Zuchovicki.
Due to the directive of social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, private funeral service and burial will be held at the Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery on Monday, April 20, 2020 with Rabbi Eric Cohen officiating.
An informal shiva with close family and friends will be held via Zoom on Monday, April 20, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. EST for English speakers and on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. EST for Spanish speakers. A formal shiva will occur Tuesday, April 21, 2020 through Friday, April 24, 2020 via Zoom (https://zoom.us/j/93862168268).
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ.
Memorial donations may be made to the Jewish Community Center, 5 Sergeantsville Road Flemington, New Jersey 08822. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Jewish Community Center.
