Shelley Lynn Goldstein-Groussis, age 60 years, of Coconut Creek, FL, died on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in Northwest Medical Center, Margate, FL.

Born in Schenectady, NY, May 23, 1954, she was the daughter of Edna Berg Goldstein of Coconut Creek, FL and the late Harvey Goldstein.

In addition to her mother, Shelley is survived by a sister Paula Leonard; a brother and sister-in-law, Joel and Sharon Goldstein; a niece and several nephews.

She was a native of Saratoga Springs, NY and attended Northeastern University in Boston, MA, graduating with a degree in Psychology. She lived in the Boston area and worked for the State of Massachusetts placing children in foster care homes and with children with special social needs.

She retired several years ago and moved to Florida to be with her mother. Shelley was a fun and loving person who had a fondness for animals and enjoyed making friends on the internet. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed, but her legacy of caring and love will continue.

Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Since Shelley succumbed to complications resulting from diabetes, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to either the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183 or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
