Shirlee M. Finnegan

Shirlee Mae Finnegan, age 94 years, formerly of Cheshire,CT, Chapel Hill, NC, and Daytona Beach, FL, died on Sunday, November 16, 2014 in Foothill Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation, Hillsborough, NJ.

Born in Meriden, CT, December 27, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Flora Troesch O'Brien.

A homemaker and accomplished golfer, she was fourteen time champion at Wallingford Country Club, CT and played in the US Amateur in 1953. She was a former member of the Finley Country Club, NC, and former champion at the Pelican Bay Country Club, FL.

Her husband, William Finnegan, died in 2003. Surviving are her daughter, Pamela Somers, of Readington Township, NJ; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at 11:00AM in the Church Of The Holy Spirit, 3 Haytown Road, Lebanon, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private.
