Shirley B. Hoge

Shirley B. Hoge, age 91 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ. Born in Appleton, WI, July 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Alma Wieckert Buesing. She was a graduate of Lawrence College in Appleton and worked for Gilbert Paper Company until her marriage. She enjoyed her family and friends, playing bridge, books, and doing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed golf and was a member of Copper Hill Country Club, where she made three holes-in-one. She was a member of the Flemington Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, William Hoge, brothers Melvin Buesing, Kenneth Buesing, and Warren Buesing; sisters Marcella Buesing Polkinghorn and Elaine Buesing Hovde and many in-laws. Surviving are two sons, Daniel and wife Ann of Houston, TX and Kurt and wife Debra of Upper Black Eddy, PA; one daughter, Kay, of Flemington, NJ; three granddaughters, Paula Hoge Eckard, Monica Hoge Dennis, and Lisa Hoge; three great-grandsons, Vincent Eckard, Simon Eckard and Clark Dennis; brother Ralph Buesing, sister JoAnn Buesing DuVall, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services and interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to the Flemington Presbyterian Church, 10 E. Main Street, Flemington NJ 08822 or to Lawrence University to either the Buesing Family Library Endowment or the General Fund.
